Assistant Community Manager, English
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an organized, sociable, and energetic Assistant Community Manager. This person will serve as a conduit between Blizzard and the European English speaking World of Warcraft community, relaying feedback to the developers and the rest of the company and keeping players informed about current plans, policies, and updates related to the game. In a supporting role to the Community Manager, the Assistant Community Manager is also responsible for contributing to the game’s community website and for representing Blizzard in meetings with the public and the press. Other areas of responsibility include fan-site interaction, fan-fair participation, and assisting the other members of the community team with a variety of related tasks.
The ideal candidate would be an avid Blizzard gamer with experience as a member or moderator of a forum-based community. An even temper and a passion for providing top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment are essential. Also, this person would be highly motivated, conscientious, and detail oriented, with excellent communication skills.
Location: Velizy, France (southwest of Paris)
Permanent work contract
Starting Date: Immediate
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently reading and responding to postings in the Blizzard forums
- Investigating open topics with other teams at Blizzard
- Writing and presenting regular internal forum-feedback reports
- Participating in and coordinating fairs and events
- Assisting other members of the community team with community-related tasks
- Other responsibilities, as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English combined with a passion for gaming
- Strong time-management and organization skills
- Ability to efficiently produce high-quality web site announcements and updates
- Strong customer-service skills and a professional attitude
- Diligence to consistently follow up on open subjects in the forums
- A strong motivation and high level of commitment, willingness to work long hours, and be available on call
- Available for occasional travel
- Proficiency with MS Office
PLUSES
- Previous community-management and/or forum-moderation experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Warcraft, StarCraft, and/or Diablo universes
- Previous PR and/or customer-service experience
- Membership in a Blizzard fan site
- Secondary language
